Death was something fearsome until Christ opened Heaven’s door for us.

I had given up ever seeing the National Conference videos. You may remember that the original drive hit the floor as we were wrapping up the conference in Atchison.

The recovery looked hopeless but I didn’t properly bank on the expertise of our Never-Say-Die Executive Director, MP Murray. The videos are now viewable on the website!

As always, the expertise imbedded in CORAC astonishes me. I rather think MP could command sea voyages and space flights, if he had a mind to. Thanks be to God for the talents He has given for the mission of CORAC to stand for faith, family and freedom.

Opinions expressed in the newsletter, unless otherwise attributed, are my own.

It’s Up to Us

Most of you reading this are familiar with the problems we have had with videos from the National Conference. At first, the data was just unusable. We sent it on to a recovery company which got most of it back. Then our Executive Director and IT guy extraordinaire, MP, spent three weeks refining it further – and managed to get everything back but a small portion of Bishop Strickland’s magnificent talk.* (Alas, that was the one I most wanted to recover in its entirety).

My only regret is that in the original data, MP told me there was a glitch during my talk where I did a Max Headroom impersonation. I think I would have liked to see that. (Those of you who lived through the 80’s remember Max Headroom quite well, I presume).

We were going to sell the video package for something reasonable, like $14.95. But now, three months later, we are just giving it away on the CORAC website. It was a long, hard slog to get the data back, and we ask only that you donate to the cost if you are able.

As everyone knows, the last few months have revealed much of the magnitude of the battle before us. If all you ever listened to was the establishment media, you would think that half the country has gone violently and stark raving mad. In truth, it is a cohort of a little less than 20 percent. That is still a completely frightening number. Democrats and the left are openly advocating for – and committing – political violence now and calling it fascism if we resist their depravity. Successfully violent revolutions have been accomplished with as little as four percent of the population committed to the violence.

On the bright side, I encounter a lot of people I don’t know almost every week, white, brown, and black – and they are almost universally kind and thoughtful. It is unnerving, though, on the rare occasion when one of those kind and thoughtful people starts spouting Trump Hatred and contempt for all things conservative. It is not long until spittle starts forming – and flying – from their lips. Watching that sort of psychosis in real time is depressing and frightful. Fortunately, most of those kind and thoughtful people are horrified at what the media and the left is doing if you bring it up.

In an odd little filigree for our times, while the younger radical extremists are usually the loudest, the madness seems to be more prevalent in my cohort – the Baby Boomers. It seems many of us just want to believe whatever the establishment media says, no matter how obvious the evidence they have been lying to us shamelessly for several decades is. It seems to be tied to some weird need to be smart and thinking that being “smart” means buying whatever authorities tell you. Who would have thought that, in the end, Boomers had so many conformists desperate to hold onto old standards that are deader than a coffin nail?

It is going to take a sustained and committed effort to keep the violent radicals from imposing their will and, increasingly, trying to maim or kill those who will not bend the knee to them. This is not just a spiritual battle; it is THE spiritual battle – Armageddon. I see much better now why I have been prevented from finishing my manual up to this point. I had seen edges of the challenge before us, but am only now beginning to see the heart of what will be required. We will be able to cooperate with God in renewing the face and faith of the world, but it is going to require everything we have to offer – and a whole lot more self-discipline and self-awareness than we are yet showing. Those are subjects that will be constant themes for me going forward. For now, it is sufficient to know that this battle WILL be won – with or without our active participation. But woe unto us if we don’t participate with God in it and learn to bridle our tongues.

Early this December, we will have another national CORAC Zoom meeting that you all will be invited to. I will lay out what lies ahead. I know this year has been very rough for many of you. It certainly has been rough for me. But I rejoice because whenever I have a prolonged bout of serious suffering, health or otherwise, it has always been prelude to an even more prolonged period of astonishing fruitfulness. I see the contours and more of the actual challenge we face – and how to create the great revival that will overcome it.

We have had all manner of contingencies and possibilities with CORAC during these last five years, as it has been tumultuous, unstable times. Some of the fog of war is dissipating. What is in front of us is not pretty, but we know better each day from where the assault is coming and where to grapple with it. We are going to have to make decisions that we thought would never come.

Occasionally I say that we have a lot of wood to chop. Next year, we will have more than we have had in the first five years of CORAC put together. But this battle will be fought in the light, for all who have eyes that can see the light. Watch the National Conference videos. I ask that, after you do, you consider sending $10, $20, $50, $100, $1,000 or more as a donation to CORAC. We are going to need every bit of it to fully organize the American nation, and then the world, to be brothers and sisters in evangelizing for the great Christian revival that is on our doorstep even as I write this.

To quote a man I did not much like 10 years ago, who I have since come to admire greatly… “thank you for your attention to this matter.”

Breitbart Paved the Way

Charlie Kirk was an uniquely gifted man, but he did have inspiration along his way. Charlie Kirk credited Andrew Breitbart with the start of own career, TurningPointUSA and the whole modern conservative movement. Breitbard pioneered the unheard-of strategy of talking directly to those who disagree. Breitbart was the original “happy warrior,” a term we use today for Charlie Kirk. Breitbart died mysteriously in 2012, right after revealing that he had damning videos of Barack Obama that would scuttle his re-election campaign.

For so long, conservatives hung their heads and were paralyzed by all the false accusations from the Left. We couldn’t understand why they hated or disdained us, and we spent entirely too much energy trying to prove ourselves to them. Andrew was one of the first to be unapologetically conservative. He fought back, at a time when few others understood how. His motto was, “Walk toward the fire.” If he were alive today, I think he’d say, “RUN toward the fire.”

Andrew clearly recognized that we are at war with the mainstream corporate media, a message that is finally, finally being heard. He made a famous declaration about it (excuse the profanity).

If we are all Charlie Kirk now, and Charlie owes his career to Breitbart, then we are all Andrew now, too. Read more about Andrew in his book Righteous Indignation: Excuse Me While I Save the World.

The daily news brief from Florida attorney and sarcastic optimist, Jeff Childers is so informative that I am perched like a vulture on Substack every morning, waiting for him to post (usually around 8:30 or 9.) You can obviously get news from other sources, but I rely on Jeff’s legal and political analysis to cut through the spin. The chuckles first thing in the morning don’t hurt, either.

Hillsdale Online

Hillsdale College president Larry Arnn spoke highly of Charlie Kirk at the memorial. Charlie did not go to college, but he completed all the online courses offered by Hillsdale online. They are subject-specific mini-courses that are not terribly time-consuming but which impart so much knowledge that is not taught in most schools anymore. There is everything from politics and economics to fine art and literature (including C. S. Lewis and the Bible.) Each course averages 5-10 hours, which is very manageable even for busy folks.

Hillsdale’s mission is to furnish, free of charge, scientific, literary, theological, political and moral education videos in order to perpetuate the blessings of civil and religious liberty, and personal happiness. As Catholics, we know that only the truth has any chance of creating genuine happiness.

If even a 5-hour commitment sounds like too much, try PragerU, which produces very short teaching videos, such as “Dear Infidels: A Warning To America,” “Why I Am No Longer An Atheist,” and “Is There A Moral Case For the Death Penalty?” The videos range from 5 minutes to 50 minutes.

What's on the CORAC Website?

Two months in the making (and repairing), the videos from the 2025 National Conference are now viewable on the website. I am so happy they’ve been restored because it was a gangbuster collection of talks. Charlie was especially hot that weekend and Bishop Strickland was on top of his game. Mike Thompson cut right through all the scamming about climate, and surprise speaker Mark Zia, plucked from his vendor’s table, wowed us.

Keynote Talks:

  • Welcoming Address
  • David Daleiden
  • Mike Thompson
  • Bishop Joseph Strickland
  • Charlie Johnston
  • Closing Address

Member Talks:

  • Steve Seberger, Region 7, Solar Energy
  • Michael Lambert, Region 2, Homesteading
  • Sheryl Collmer, Region 8, J6 and the Media

Surprise Talk:

  • Mark Zia, professor at Benedictine College, on the subject of the Holy Face.

The Selection

The USCCB statement on ‘Catholics in Political Life’” states “The Catholic community and Catholic Institutions should not honor those who act in defiance of our fundamental moral principles. They should not be given awards, honors or platforms which would suggest support for their actions.

Seems pretty straightforward to me, but only ten bishops (out of around 400) spoke out against Cardinal Cupich’s proposed Lifetime (isn’t that ironic?) Achievement award to 100% pro-abortion Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL).

Thomas Paprocki, Springfield IL
Salvatore Cordileone, San Francisco, CA
Joseph Strickland, formerly Tyler, TX
James Conley, Lincoln, NE
James Wall, Gallup, NM
David Ricken, Green Bay, WI
Michael Olson, Fort Worth, TX
Carl Kemme, Wichita, KS
James Johnston, Kansas City, MO
Joseph Naumann, formerly of Kansas City

As you know, Cardinal Cupich did not back down, but Senator Durbin was persuaded to decline the award and defuse the situation, which had become radioactive. In just a week, 40,000 people from CatholicVote alone messaged the Cardinal’s office.

Pope Leo responded in a disappointing manner which has hurt many Catholic laity. Instead of a full-throated defense of life, the Pope obfuscated by bringing in the topics of immigration and the death penalty, as though they are equal in gravity to procured abortion. I think I have heard this record before.

Bishop Strickland

What’s up with Bishop Strickland? He’s never dull. Over the past weekend, he participated with other bishops in a public act of reparation for the sacrilege committed by the LGBTQ jubilee at the Vatican.

You can watch it here >

You will have to register and pay $25 to view the videos from the Catholic Identity Conference, which is a true value. There were outstanding talks by Diane Montagna, Bishop Athanasius Schneider, Liz Wheeler, Bishop Robert Mutsaerts, and others including Bishop Strickland. I have to really recommend Diane Montagna, who acknowledged the disappointments we’ve suffered from Pope Leo, but still gives reason for hope.

On the same weekend, Bishop Strickland posted that he would be attending the USCCB fall general assembly in November. The bishop has made an annual practice of praying with the laity outside during the USCCB meetings, but since his removal as Bishop of Tyler, he has not actually attended the sessions of the assembly itself. This year appears to be different, as he says he “will come out to the lead a Rosary for the Church and the World.” If he’s planning to come out, then he must be planning to go in. Frankly, that would be the best thing for the USCCB, though they will, no doubt, not be terribly welcoming. Prayers are needed that the bishops will turn the corner this year, and begin to focus on the Gospel and evangelization and the true mission of the Church, rather than consolidating their power with globalists, and persecuting those who still focus on Jesus Christ.

Bishop Strickland’s X account, with 200,000 followers was hacked to such an extent that it was unrecoverable. We should all be so feared! He had to open a new account as Bishop Joseph Strickland@Pillars of Faith, @bishStrick. Give him a follow if you’re on X. Or sign up to receive notices of new pastoral letters >

Get a Hobby

We all used to have “hobbies” before screen watching took over all our free time. Hobbies make us more human, more immersed in God’s creation, and less focused on the self. The linked article happens to focus on birdwatching as a hobby, but the same things could be said for gardening, stargazing, animal husbandry, tincturing, photography and many of the other activities we nurture at CORAC.

Elizabeth Nickson

When I discovered Elizabeth Nickson, I couldn’t believe I had not heard of her before. She has shimmering credentials, but the topics she covers are so disturbing that people tend to discount her. It’s a flaw in our military strategy as soldiers of Christ that we dismiss anyone who makes us too uncomfortable, even when they’re telling us the truth. I think that’s how child trafficking is still prospering; we just can’t bear to look.

Nickson is that rare person who does look. She was a reporter for TIME magazine and then European Bureau Chief of LIFE magazine in the 1980s-90s. She has interviewed the likes of Margaret Thatcher, Nelson Mandela, the Royals, and the Dalai Lama, as well as political prisoners and torture victims. She’s been published by the Wall Street Journal, the London Sunday Times, the Daily Mail and Harper’s.

Elizabeth has seen and reported on things that horrify us, but we need a dose of that if we’re going to win the battle against genuine, hard-shelled, unrepentant, unmerciful, inhuman evil… and it is all around us. She only posts once a week, and I highly recommend girding your loins and considering what she posts. Is it all true? I don’t know, but she is one of the few talking about these things, she has very strong experience in investigative journalism and may have a limited life span, so I will, by golly, read her every week.

A few examples of her courage are:

I highly recommend her recent post about Trump and demolition of the drug trade.

CORAC Physical Healing Ministry

By Mary Jane Keppler Cole

On October 26th CORAC’s Physical Healing Prayer ministry will be marking its third-year anniversary of offering our online sessions via Zoom. It’s hard to believe we are beginning our fourth year. How times flies! Many lives have been touched by the Healing Hand of Jesus who is the same yesterday, today and forever.

It all began when the CORAC Prayer Teams became acquainted with a new member from the Chicago area, Mark Kollar. He was eager to expand his already active healing ministry as a member of the St. Paul Street Evangelization to an online opportunity for CORAC members and others to receive prayer for physical healing.

An interview with Mark can be viewed on the CORAC website here >

When I learned of his interest in such a project, I was delighted. I had experienced the healing power of Jesus myself in 1987 while on pilgrimage to Medjugorje. Fr. Jozo Zovko laid hands on me after the Mass he celebrated in his small parish church nearby. After thirteen years of suffering with unpredictable episodes of tachycardia, I was healed instantaneously and completely. If Mark was interested in offering a prayer ministry to heal those suffering physical conditions, I would be more than happy to support a thing for CORAC members and their friends.

Soon he gathered people he knew who were trained through Encounter School of Ministry, the Anointed Life, and other such programs to be part of his team as Prayer Warriors. The session was set up like this and continues.

Mark begins with preliminary prayers inviting the Holy Spirit to be present. He then shares his testimony of how his back was healed and how the experience was motivation for him to pray for other people to be healed like he was through the power of prayer. Next, he shows short video clips that were recorded live of people who were healed when he prayed with them. Some of these testimonials are posted on the CORAC website.

Next, Mark leads healing prayer for everyone present, called “corporate prayer,” before dividing everyone up into breakout rooms with at least one trained Prayer Team member per room. At the very end of the session all are gathered back into the main room. There, we hear the participants (any who want to share their experience) report how their pain has lessened or gone away altogether.

CORAC’s Physical Healing Prayer Zoom Sessions are held monthly, usually the last Wednesday evening of the month. For exact dates and times, and how to register, visit our “Event Calendar” on CORAC’s homepage.

The next physical healing session will be Wednesday, October 29, 7:00 Central time.

To register, email maryjanekeppler@gmail.com
