Lion’s Mane

Posted on 2023-07-31

[Mick] Lion’s mane is used when there is damage, or the risk of damage, to the central nervous system because of illness, trauma, or congenital abnormality. In the case of illness or injury, the herb helps to protect the CNS and promote healing; it has even been shown to help to regenerate damaged nerves in certain instances. It does this through remyelinizing the myelin sheath around the nerves. This remyelinizing is why Lion’s mane can be helpful for those with dementia, Parkinson’s, and Down Syndrome.
