INTRODUCTION
This new chaplet, produced by the Corps of Renewal and Charity (CORAC), assists people of faith throughout the world to pray for all countries in every continent during this time when Judeo-Christians and other people of faith experience significant threats from various powers. At the same time, the Lord is wondrously drawing people in every country to return to faith in Him or to embrace it for the first time – often while facing persecution.
Several CORAC leaders discerned, discussed, and decided on the content of this chaplet. They recognize that remnants of the faithful worldwide have heroically practiced and promoted the faith over many centuries. A significant century followed Pope Leo XIII’s prophetic vision in the late 1800’s, in which God granted the evil one the opportunity to destroy the Church. This vision inspired Pope Leo XIII to compose the Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel in 1898. Now, the newly elected Pope Leo XIV links himself by name with his predecessor. He chose as his papal motto, In Illo uno unum, which means, Ïn the One, we are one.”Amen!
Three countries stand out in the Remnant Chapel: the United States of America, Ireland, and Poland. Within the past century, the faithful in each of these countries, even while suffering persecution, have had an outsized influence in keeping and protecting the faith and evangelizing throughout the world.
Beleaguered Poland, for example, gave the world Saint John Paul II and the Divine Mercy Chaplet. Tiny Ireland gave the world countless numbers of priests and religious and lay faithful who for deades spread the faith in parishes, schools, hospitals, and other apostolates in many continents. America, with its First Amendment guaranteeing freedom in religion, has remained home and launchpad for many communities of fervent faith despite efforts to suppress Judeo-Christianity and other faith over the past one hundred years. Each of these three needs our prayers now.
This chaplet uses a special set of prayer beads to assist in moving through the sequence of prayers. The colors gold and white evince the bridge-building etymology of “pontiff.” For each of the seven trios of the chaplet, refer to the list of continents and countries on the fourth page. Pray for one or more countires that touch your spirit today, with special prayers from Scripture. To acquire a set of prayer beads, email prayerteams@coracusa.com for information.
