  7. Comfrey Salve (Virtual Class)

In this class you’ll learn how to make a Comfrey Salve which has been used medicinally for thousands of years to reduce pain and promote healing. Modern peer-reviewed studies are finding that topical comfrey preparations are effective herbal pain relievers.

A Testimonial:

In his role of Deacon, my husband visits the sick and brings them communion.

Recently he visited with a gentleman that is a quadriplegic (C5).  He learned that while he is paralyzed from the neck down and his body is numb, there is a neurological side-effect of extreme pain.  His is in his shoulders and upper chest.  Therefore he is actually in pain though paralyzed.

I took him and his wife some of the “Comfrey Salve” that I made last summer from a simple recipe that I got from the internet.  This is the first year I grew comfrey and I was eager to try it out.

To my surprise, I learned that the gentleman’s wife had begun applying the salve on the areas where he has the most pain.  And it works!  Works quite well, actually, and they are happy to use something that relieves that pain.  In one sense it is not that surprising, since comfrey is “Symphytum Officinale” and is used in the homeopathic form for injuries, especially nerve injuries but also athletic and bone injuries.

This is fascinating! Is there another way to dry the leaves, perhaps in a very low oven temp?
    Thank you
