Ordinary Wisdom

[Justin asks] If an end-fed wire antenna is mounted over a roof as an inverted V, does it matter where the counterpoise wire is located (elevated or on ground) as long as it’s not under the antenna?

[Paul responds] The good news is that the counterpoise is a VERY forgiving thing….I would run it down to the ground under that pole on the fence and then run it down at the bottom of the fence line, and you can turn the corner down at the end of your yard and keep going….

[Justin] It won’t make much difference if I staple it to the bottom of the fence? I currently have 50ft of wire running where you suggest, but it moves around, and I’m afraid of it being ingested by the lawnmower. I’m lazy and really don’t want to bury it.

[Paul} stapling is good
