From the battle-tested historian and strategist Charlie Johnston comes Revival: A Handbook and Manual for Forming Functional Communities

“The principles in this book are simple, but not easy. They require commitment, fortitude and perseverance. If freely adopted, they give us the means to rebuild a Godly land of peace, prosperity and brotherhood before God. As with any plan we will adapt particulars as we go forward as needs, opportunities, and challenges arise and change. With sound foundational principles, effective strategic and tactical techniques, we will collaborate with God in rebuilding the City of God as the city of man collapses around us.” – Charlie Johnston

A RETURN TO NORMALCY

Almost all people are aware that we have entered into great crisis. Few understand that this turmoil is not a departure from normalcy, but a return to normalcy. The reign of justice and opportunity for two and a half centuries has blinded us to what a miraculous departure from human history America has been. If you took all the people who have ever lived in peace with liberty under ordered law, it would constitute the equivalent of a postage stamp on a football field of depravity and violence.

The questions I have grappled with are how to take advantage of existing (if residual) features of the American system and exploit the many weaknesses of the cultural vandals to defend honest people from the depravities of the hostile occupying force that has taken the reins in America, while beginning to rebuild a just society now and keeping the typical violence that marks such epochal change to the barest minimum.

Avoid Centralization
The first task was to avoid centralization. Centralized command invariably results in a new and opposite tyranny.

Work Together
The second was to find a way where patriots can work together in freedom on building anew, largely safe from the assaults of the cultural vandals.

Unite with Common Values & Principles
The third was to find common values and principles that could bind those people together in a unified way that will overcome the inherent martial weakness of a non-centralized movement in extreme crisis.

These questions are among the issues I dealt with in developing this little book.

“Truth will withstand the test of rigorous scrutiny.”

CHARLIE JOHNSTON
Founder & Author

Charlie Johnston is the founder of CORAC, a former newspaper editor, radio talk show host and political consultant. From Feb. 11, 2011 to Aug. 21, 2012, he walked 3,200 miles across the country, sleeping in the woods, meeting people and praying as he went. He writes on cultural, global and political issues from an orthodox Catholic perspective. He emphasizes that we find God most surely through the ordinary, doing the little things we should with faith and fidelity. His constant refrain is that, to live real joy, we must acknowledge God, take the next right step, and be a sign of hope to those around us. He lives in the Archdiocese of Denver in the United States.
