  5. Relieving Severe Knee Pain
[Question] What is suggested for severe pain?  It’s my knee.  I have been taking 600 mg ibufrofin.

[Mick’s Answer] First off, I would do Symphytum 200 mixed with Arnica 200, twice daily. If that doesn’t help enough, you can take the Arnica 200 (or even 1M) as needed for pain. If your knee hurts on initial motion but limbers up with additional motion, then you might want to add Rhus tox 200 a couple times per day or so; but if it hurts worse the more you move it, then you could use Bryonia 30 or 200 instead of Rhus tox.

For a torn meniscus I’d alter the remedies a bit. I would take Symphytum 200 mixed with Ruta grav 200, twice daily until the knee is very much better. I would use Rhus tox or Bryonia according to the symptoms in my previous comment. Arnica can also be used for pain, especially if the pain is bruised-feeling. would take Symphytum 200 mixed with Ruta grav 200, twice daily until the knee is very much better.
