  5. Simple Quotes to Ponder in Charity

As self-interest and a dominating spirit try to get the upper hand in today’s world, here’s some simple quotes to ponder.  We’re spotlighting the word “charity” from our name – Corps of Renewal and Charity.  Got a favorite quote in this vein?  Feel free to share it in the comments section.

2 Corinthians 9:7

So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity: for God loves a cheerful giver.

Charlie Johnston

This is a time to bear with each other, to lift each other up in mutual charity. The last thing we need is to complain that things are not how we would prefer or not how we would do them when a leader of ours is trying to find his way.

St. Teresa of Calcutta

Never worry about the numbers. Help one person at a time and always start with the person nearest you.

Oscar Wilde

The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention.

Pope St. Pius X

The primary duty of charity does not lie in the toleration of false ideas.

St.Therese of Lisieux

I know now that true charity consists in bearing all our neighbors’ defects – not being surprised at their weakness, but edified at their smallest virtues.

Acts 20:35

If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!

About

Leadership is not a position at CORAC, it’s a mindset fueled by the heart. In these challenging times of rapid change and uncertainty, we thrive by empowering our members –– from all walks and stages of life –– to humbly take an active role in our mission.  Now is the time to take responsibilty for the gifts God entrusted you with, use them for the benefit of others, and trust that God will multiply your effort to help reap an abundant harvest. In short, acknowledge God, take the next right step, and be a sign of hope to those around you.
