  5. Procession With Our Lady of Guadalupe

On Friday October 7th, the Northern Colorado team hosted a dinner and the second of Charlie Johnston’s talks this month during his Colorado stay. The next morning some 20 members journeyed with Charlie on a pilgrimage to Camp St. Malo and St. Catherine of Siena Chapel on the Rock at the foot of Mount Meeker at the front range of the Rocky Mountains. It has been a very special place for Charlie, and for many other visitors as well.

St. Malo has a century-long Catholic heritage in Colorado and was the site of a visit by St. Pope John Paul II during his trip to Denver for World Youth Day in 1973. Charlie later walked the same prayer path as the Holy Father many years later, during his own cross-country journey on foot.

On Saturday, following Mass, Dr. Lisa Van Bramer, the guardian the of the traveling missionary image of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Colorado, spoke about the miraculous image and subsequent relics. The image was brought from New England, and is now on a two-month visitation throughout Colorado. Thereafter, the CORAC faithful processed with Our Lady across the sacred grounds, praying the Rosary, and resting for a time at the foot of Mt. Meeker.
